Default 2+2 bars installed '14 UL

I got all the parts in to do the handlebar install finally. It took 5 hours including a run to the hardware store and stopping for lunch, taking my sweet time, making triple sure of each step and double checking each wire. Internal wiring on the 1" bars took close to 2 hours alone, it's tight in there.

Parts used:
  • Khrome Werks 1" 2+2 Stretch bars 300077
  • Billet chrome top clamp with set screws (to secure bars better under additional leverage)
  • 10" extension wires (not mandatory but make the job easier)

I moved the mirrors under the bars which had the unexpected advantage of being able to use ALL of the mirror now instead of seeing my forearms in part of them. I only had to move the clutch line to the left side of the neck instead of it's usual spot on the right, this gave me plenty of room. Brake line fits fine.
The only thing I didn't like too much was the power wire for the heated grips near the left fork is a little tight. I routed it where it will be OK but I would have liked a little more slack. Easy fix later if it becomes an issue.
I like the bars so far. It's 19F and a bit icy today so I'll save the maiden voyage for later but sitting on the bike it's MUCH more comfortable and relaxed now. I have the bars all the way forward so still have more to go if I feel the need. I'm 5'11 with a 6' wingspan for reference.

Did you cut larger openings for the internal wiring on the 1 inch bars? I had to, dimples in the bars very deep, 1 inch for external wires only, in my opinion. Told the 1 1/2 bars have the large openings for the internal wiring.

I used the openings as they are. If you take the wires off at the switch pack end also, those plugs fit through the holes. The switch end plugs are a little smaller.
I respect your opinion but I made the wires fit in 1” bars just fine with a little patience.

I have the same bike and look at replacing with the same bars. Which wire extensions did you end up using? Did you have to get the throttle fly by wire extension? Thanks

I got 10” wire extensions from eBay, around $18. They are for the left and right switch pack only. The extensions aren’t needed if the factory plugs are liberated from the bracket that holds everything securely but I wanted to leave those secured.
The TBW and right heated grip wires are bundled together nicely and the TBW wires are PLENTY long. The heated grip wire has to go from the center hole of the bar to a pigtail in front of the left fork tube. I had to cut a zip tie that holds that pigtail to a bracket to free up enough slack to connect it but it’ll be ok now.
Overall the job was enjoyable (I love working on my bike as long as The temp is nice and I’m comfortable) and could be done on the side stand just as easily as a lift. I had mine on my lowered lift table and it was a little high at times sitting on my comfy chair 😀

That comment about the install time including lunch was a lot to take in, but then you said it was enjoyable too? What are you on? I want some! But really, looks like a clean install and I'm fairly certain you'll be happy with the results and comfort sure to come. The heated grips too, adding a level of complexity to the mix.

On a side note? What's the on the TV? Top Gear?

The bars look great....good job! They look more comfortable with an improved wrist angle too.
Internal wiring on a 1" dia bar is a total pain in the ***. Been there...ask me how I know lol.
But for me the mirrors need to be mounted above the bars both for function and form. They look better above the bars and fall better into your line of sight without lowering your eyes from the road.

Those look more like +2 than 2+2, would expect to see more (2") pull back.
