unfortunately my PBA doesn't have a website to post the registration flier
Send one in the the NJ State PBA webmaster. If it a sanctioned event by you local, they should post in their area that lists all the PBA events. Many are MC events. http://www.njspba.com/Local%20Events.htm
R...I am in the process of having the fliers made up and I will make sure I send onne up to the office. Thanks. I am also gonna send them out over the "trax" system to every PD in the state
The Cabin in Freehold has a pretty good bike night. I think it's the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month. Not too sure when they start up this season, but a great place to hand out some flyers.
The Cabin is very bike friendly. They have been a stop for the NJ AMA Polar Bear runs for years and the Christmas Toy collection point if I remember correctly.
I am also gonna send them out over the "trax" system to every PD in the state
I've been out for almost five years. What is the TRAX System? NCIC2000 was just starting to come online and I'm guessing it is a feature of that?
About time. I started back when a DL, Reg or other check had to be called in and you copied the info on a pad. NCIC was a great step forward.
If this run starts to develop into a large event, contact every municipality along the route as well as the agencies with the details. You know how they hate surprises.
As I said earlier, get liability insurance. An accident by a participant can cause an enormous headache for your local.
a 50/50 raffle.
How about a contest.
Best dressed bike,
bettter yet, most poorly dressed bike, winner gets like a 600 gift certificate to HD.
each bike pony's up 25-50 dollars.
or a raffle for a prize basket.
Googles, a jacket, gloves, bandana, or a bike washing kit.
or even a bike dryer.
Runs with raffles bring in cash. This pays for itsself and whats left over can contribute to a charity of the PBA's Choice.
stunts on an open lot or road for that matter sponsored by your PBA isnt such a good idea.
but a tour of the county sounds solid.
A lotta back roads, finishing at the park..sure.
any more will change the theme from Poker to a charity fund raiser, either one are good ideas.
Guys, things are coming along well with the run...we will be doing a bike contest, however I don't know if a $600 GC for HD will be doable. This is our first run so I am doing everything we can to get as many gifts/prizes as possible. There will be plenty ranging from gift certificates for local restaurants to larger ones for HD...Show up on the 9th and see what you win
