karaokeman and I rode down this morning and I agree that it was not a rally. It was a pay to enter vendor show in a Convention Center. At least it was a nice ride down.
Wildwood's Roar to the Shore rally is the best event in the NJ area.
it sucked but the only thing that was a score was my wife got a nice hd jacket for really really low price and all i can say is thank you borgata since they paid some of the vendors said it was because of myrtle beach they made it the same time 40 venders went there
I don't think it would have been any better with more vendors. You can't have a rally indoors, charge people for parking, and then charge to get to the only vendor area. A rally should be outdoors where events are at multiple locations and people have the freedom to ride from location to location. Atlantic City is not a good location for a rally. There is no street parking, all of the larger lots are covered pay to park decks, and the town is too city like and segregated.
I would have liked to have taken a nice ride and spend the day but after I visited the AC Bike Week Website which sucks and has little to no useful information, I imagined paying to see a few vendors in a parking lot. Guess if you want to hangout all weekend and slam back some drinks with your buds, it may be fun but that is not an option for me.
Americade is similar as far as paying to access the vendor area but there is some great riding to be had in the area so I do attend when possible. Usually just a day trip.
.. how about having an actually bike show??? you know with cusom bikes you can look at?? a half dozen stock HArleys from the local dealer, and a hand full of chopper shops with a few of their(not so impressive) bikes doesn't really make a bike show
I've seen alot more bike to look at at a local bike night in a restaraunt parking lot...with no admission fee... and DISCOUNT BEER
Everything they had there could've fit in a little area on the board walk.
AND how STUPID is the whole "Strip CLub Choppers" thing...bikes with Poles where the seat goes?...so you can't ride 'em and if a girl spins on that pole that bike will flip right over. The quality of the bikes weren't even good...the Bagger they had there had paint that looked like it was done in a basement....and we're supposed to be impressed cuz that TV tool Guy Barbeiri is involved?.... though i gotta say for me the highlight of the show was the little brunette they had at their display...she's the only thing i can remember from the whole 20 minutes i was in the building

And those bike with the poles aren't even new, I saw them a couple years ago in Daytona..
Sounds like an event I'm happy with opting out of, I gave the wife 2 choices AC or Patio Bar in Pt. Pleasant. She chose the Patio Bar.. Glad she did...
