Looking to do a trip to Nova Scotia in spring or summer time 2017, just want to see if anyone in the New England area did a run. Would like to hear some feed back.
I'm in New Brunswick and just happened to be in Cape Breton, NS last September. The Cabot Trail is our premier Maritime scenic run. Unfortunately it has 6 or 8 sections under construction in 2016 & 2017 which means holdups due to 1 lane traffic and "gravel". Aug 30 to Sept 3 is the "Warf Rat Rally" in Digbt NS. I've never been to that but its BIG and area hotels don't rent rooms unless its for the 4 nights so about 800 bux minimum. Its a very popular rally though.

Been stationed back here in NS for 3 years, and would be more than willing to help out with any info you might need.
The Tour Guide is a good website and the actual guide is well worth the couple bucks they ask for it, and I expect it would save you a few bucks in travel bookings and costs with the information it contains.
Road conditions can be found on a few websites as well;
From Lunenberg its a short ride to the Oak Island Sucker,,, I mean Treasure pit where Blackbeard, The Templars and Elvis all buried their treasures. No-one has ever found any of it and no-one ever will but if you're into holes, they've got one .
One of our Best Road trips and highly suggest it - the MC guide will be a big help for sure. We took the ferry over from St Johns - the US ferry wasn't running then but told it runs now.
Also, we always keep the water on our right side when riding and did both Hotel/Motel and B&B's. Our trip lasted 21 days total - left from NY and picked up friends in NH.
Lay it out and don't rush - lots to see and Ft Lewisburgh was my favorite....Enjoy!
Exactly what Erilflyn said. I have rode the Cabot Trail twice and would do it again in a minute. Also have heard about the construction. The last time I road it was in 2015. HKmark23 has posted an excellent site to check road conditions. I know last year from riders that went there some of the roads were in gravel and some for 10 miles. Check it out and ride safe if you go. One word of caution IMO. Stay away from Halifax if you can. The people there are the most aggressive drivers I have ever seen in the world!

Sounds like you've been through the Armdale rotary (traffic circle) . The rules there were different from everywhere else. Vehicles already in the rotary had to give way to vehicles entering it !! In NS they seem to treat highway on ramps the same way. If someone is entering the highway via a ramp to your right,,, give him right of way or get hit.
I've heard they've changed the rules on the rotary to conform with interplanetary customs but I'd take nothing for granted.
