Sgt. Simpson PPD Funeral
Bikers, Patriots, & citizens from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, New York, and West Virginia: WE NEED YOU.
WE NEED ONE THOUSAND BIKES TO TAKE PART AT THE FUNERAL PROCESSION ON MONDAY FOR SGT. TIMOTHY SIMPSON OF THE Philadelphia Police Department.
Sergeant Timothy Simpson was killed when his patrol car was struck by a vehicle being operated by an intoxicated driver. At approximately 10:30 pm, Monday, November 17, 2008, Sergeant Simpson was en route to a robbery call when his patrol car was involved in a collision with a vehicle at the intersection of Allegheny and Aramingo Avenues. He was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries. It was determined that the operator of the vehicle that struck Sergeant Simpson's patrol car was intoxicated and he was taken into custody. Sergeant Simpson had served with the Philadelphia Police Department for 20 years and is survived by his wife and three children. He was assigned to the 24th District.
THIS IS A STATEMENT TO THE ENTIRE NATION TO SHOW OUR HONOR AND RESPECT TO OUR POLICE, OUR DEFENDERS, OUR FRIENDS IN BLUE SHIRTS AND TO LET THEM KNOW THAT IN THEIR DARKEST MOMENTS THEY ARE NOT ALONE. For the fourth time THIS YEAR, law enforcement from a 100 mile radius will be in a funeral procession. It is important that those officers see how much we appreciate their willingness to put themselves in harms way to defend US, our safety, our security, our freedoms. WHATEVER WE CAN DO TO 'HAVE THEIR BACKS' (WITHOUT GETTING IN THEIR WAY), THAT WE WILL DO. WE WILL ANSWER THEIR CALL.
Bring a 3' x 5' flag to help line each side of Hulmeville Road, Bensalem PAone bike, one rider, one flagand show the officers of Philadelphia and the surrounding region that their loss is shared by every person who appreciates what they do, putting themselves in harms way EVERY DAY to protect the rest of us.
PLEASE, CONTACT EVERYONE YOU KNOW WITH A BIKE WITHIN 100 MILES OF PHILADELPHIA, PA. The more bikes the better, weather permitting. But the important thing is, we need YOU, so drive/cage it if necessary. BUT BRING YOUR FLAG.
IF YOU HAVE ACCESS TO MAILING LISTS OR OTHER FORUMS, USE THOSE NOW. ON MONDAY, TAKE THE DAY OFF, TAKE A VACATION DAY, CALL IN SICK. IF YOU ARE A "BOSS," CLOSE YOUR OFFICE. TAKE AN EXTENDED LUNCH BREAK. BUT BE THERE.
