anybody going to mountainfest in morgantown wv.??? We are leaving friday morning the 24th , staying till sunday. Always wanted to do that rally. Seems like a good one. Mark
Were you as disappointed in it as I was this year?
I've been going the past three years and this one was by far the worst. Maybe it was the economy, but it was nothing more than a carnival this year.
Last year, Willie G was there, Miss Mountainfest contest, HD had bikes there for demo rides, etc, etc......this year: nada. Just the same vendors and shitty music that you could find at any other rally.
BAH! I'm done bitching. It was better than being at work, but not by much as I got rained on during the trip home on my brand new 09 Ultra.
Yea, we weren't impressed!!! We talked to a husband and wife vendor we know that were setup there. They have been going there since it started and they said the organizers need to get help on how to run a rally. She was telling us its getting worse each year instead of better. There big thing this year was Travis Tritt, but we left hotel 3 hours before show and sat in a traffic jam for a hour. I finally said enough and turned around to keep bikes from burning up and me too! They were directing cars and bikes down same narrow one lane road to get into park.... when there was another road into it, why not have cars on one road and bikes only on other? We ran into acouple who live there and help each year, and I left them know that theres something they need to fix or nobody will be back. The towns people couldn't have been any nicer, but that only goes so far. You don't change the bike parking from blacktop one year to 4 inches of LOOSE stones to park bikes on!!! I'll not be back till I hear from somebody that the town brought in somebody that knows how to put a rally on. The couple that help out there said next year they are getting Willie Nelson, Itold them they'd better get the traffic problem fixed or you need to sleep on your bike from the day before Willie sings to see him!!! It could be a GREAT rally if the town gets some outside help to fix problems. 10 Bucks for rally was cheap, but they put a NON-REMOVABLE wrist band on me for the 3 days, but they put it on tight as hell!! I cut it off back our room to get blood to flow to hand... Went back next day and pulled wristband out of my pocket to show them I had paid my way in once but they said it was no good because I'd taken it off. Told them why, asked for another band looser on my wrist , but said I had too pay again!! Told them were to put armband and went to see the vendors we are friends with and they gave me a vendor wristband which gave me run of whole area... Just my opinion on the rally.. Mark
