Do evo oil pums needs to be replaced from time to time? I would like to know if an oil pump is making less pressure after some time or they just stop working at all without any loss of performance?
Kind regards from Thailand (where parts are not easy to get)
The oil pump on the EVO is from a very old design. By today standards....they are very inefficient. However, plenty efficient on the EVO.
They can fail...but rarely as it is a proven design. I have seen oil pumps go over 150,000 miles. One of my 1998 Electra Glides has 140,000 miles with the original pump.
It maybe an old design, but they certainly live a long time.
