oil filter stuck on sportster

I will start changing my own oil as of right now that way I can do it whenever I please. I only have one problem, the oil filter that the dealer used is stuck. I tried brute strength and the reversed masking tape sticky glove method but it's hard to get even my tiny hands around that thing. I have a couple of chrome k&n filters that I will use because they come equiped with a built in nut attached to the filter itself. I did see what looked like a filter wrench type tool at walmart in the k&n section. It looks like an inverted filter head that fits over the filter to wrench it loose. I will try that but if that doesn't work then I have no idea. My royal purple oil arrived today so I want to get the oil changed this weekend. Anyone else had a filter problem with their sportster?

I've had to punch a screwdriver through the oil filter to use as a lever before. That'll usually get um off pretty easily. Just make sure to have a funnel of some sort under the filter when you do this as it will dump oil all over the place.

The wrench you found at Walmart should work, it's the same type I use. Like mentioned you can always punch a hole in it, never fails but can be messy.

You'll get it off just have to persevere. I'm just going to add a little advise on putting the new filter on oil the gasket and only hand tighten do not use a wrench on your K&N filter to tighten.
