Have I made a mistake with my 1st service on my 07 FXDC by putting Mobil 20W50 in the engine (not Mobil 1) and Mobil 80W90 (Transmission Lube) in the Primary and transmission. This is my 1st HD and I have done all the work myself so far (Pipes, Air Cleaner, T/Max) and feel pretty good about it.
IF you ride in high temperatures frequently, I would consider changing to the Mobile One or another good synthetic at the NEXT oil change. Synthetic oils have a much higher thermal breakdown temperature thandino.
Gear oil in the primary is a bit expensive but many use the HD gear lube there. Personally, a TypeF ATF seems to work well with the clutches as does plain old 10/40 dino.
