Default Question for the SMART guys!

I changed my RK over to M1 V-twin about 1500 miles ago. Same riding habits, temp, load etc. I noticed that since the change I have had NO oil coming from my breathers and dripping on my timing cover, spraying the side cover, saddle bags etc. With Syn3 this was a regular occurance and mess between washes. Why does Syn-3 apparently spew out the breathers more than M1 V-twin? Any other ideas?

maintains its viscosity better without breakdow. believe me when I get my new se ultra, the first thing i will do is drain the syn3 oil. I t really is a poor product.

The M1 is made with reverse molecularization technology. As the molecules are being made they are spun in a centrifuge-like device in the reverse direction. Kinda like the toilet thing - water always goes down the drain spinning in a CCW direction in the Northern hemisphere. Since the molecules in the M1 are reverse spun they spin in the CW direction and tend to fall back into the motor. The Syn 3 is not a pure synthetic oil, but is a "super-refined" dino oil, assembled to synthetic specs. Since it can't be reverse spun, it can easily come out the breather as it is spinning in the normal CCW direction.

DO NOT take your bike to the Southern hemisphere if it has M1 in it that was manufactured in the Northern hemisphere. The spin will be wrong and once the oil starts coming out the breather, it'll start siphoning. You'll empty the engine & tank in no time flat.

Holy chit Skip, you had me going on that one, actually the syn 3 comes out of the engine more than the M 1 does because the dealer wants to sell you more cleaning products so they thin the syn 3 out with mazola oil so this happens.

Maybe since the Mobile-1 V-twin oil is so friggin expensive, you put less in and there was none leftover to spew out.

I do like Skip's scientific explanation though.

So now you've gotten the scientific theory, the conspiracy theory, and the cheap bastard theory...
