I just changed my oil and I filled it to the 3/4 full hot mark but cold oil so 1& 1/2 mark's to much will that hurt being a line and a 1/2 over it is still 2 squares down from the full hot mark ?
That's usually where I fill my big twin evo up to and when it gets hot, it's on the full mark...next time you take a twenty minute ride just check it and see where it is...make a mental note for the next time if it's a little too full when hot....a plastic syringe and hose will pull a little out if needed....but you're probably fine....
Jessie, overfilling a LITTLE BIT, won't hurt anything but may cause you to vent some oil through your air filter. that won't hurt anything either except, maybe, stain your pants and get the cam cover oily. IF it really bothers you you can remove a bit with a turkey baster or mini pump.
Normally, I run mine a bit low, filled to the half mark and when it is hot, it is between 3/4 and full. Anything between the add and full marks is fine, cold.
We agonize too much and ride too little when oil becomes a big focus, IMHO.
