Mixing oil
i need to change oil as im going on longer trip and need some fresh oil. I have two quarts of amsoil 20-50 and cant find another two quarts. but i can get two quarts of lucas 20-50.
anyone think its a bad idea to mix the two synthetics together?

It won't hurt but what you will get is the least common denominator of both additive packages. I would get 3 quarts of a similar synthetic like Mobil1Vtwin or Royal Purple and add 1 quart of Amsoil to that versus a 50-50 with Lucas.
You can get the Mobil1Vtwin at autozone. Lucas oil would not be my choice at all.
