over the winter the oil in my bike (2002 1200c) seems to have vanished it did not leek on to the ground so i was wondering where it might have gone and why? thanks

 

If it is the engine oil, it went into the crankcase. DO NOT add oil to the oil tank....Start engine see if oil light goes out. If it does, run engine about one minute and check the level.....should be on the dip stick now.

 

+1 it leaked past the check valve and is in the bottom of the crankcase. When you start the bike do NOT rev the motor until the engine warms up fully and oil is circulating.
