Default Oil Cooler

I have added an oil cooler to my 2006 Ultra Classic , now I have a 2009 Ultra Classic and looking at the oil filter i was thinking that all I had to do was take the Allen screws out and add the adapters for hoses but during a closer look I am not sure there is room because of the frame of the motorcycle it self seems to be to close and in looking at the kits Harley sells it appears there are selling within the kit the same adapter that goes behind the oil filter so can some one clear up the reason for the Allen screws in the plate behind oil filter ? On the 2006 Ultra I added fans behind the cooler hooked to a switch so during time I would be in traffic or stopped for any reason I could turn on the fans to help keep oil temp down or at least lower than it would be normally. Can anyone help with this question ?
