Old Brake fluid
What happens to brake fluid that has been in a stored bike for a couple of years? Does it accumulate a lot of moisture? I have front brake issues with a bike I just brought home from long term storage. Calipers, Mas Cyl, and lines are all good, no leaks but spongy, inconsistent brakes.

Brake fluid is Hydroscopic(sp.?) meaning that it attracts moisture. I had a problem like yours once on a 71 Electra-Glide i bought which had been in storage for several years. The front brake seized on my first ride and down I went!. I would highly recommend that you rebuild the master cylinder in case it is full of corrosion which might remain in there despite a flush. That was a bad crash and I almost got run over by a car which was behind me.

Get a set of speed bleeders and you can do a flush in 10 minutes. I flush my brakes every year....way easy.
