google " bob is the oil guy". you'll probably never use another additive in your life, but if you do, they'll put you onto the good ones which boost zinc and other e.p. additives that epa may have mandated out

Oil additives are bad juju for MC engines. IMO. Buy high quality motorcycle synthetics like Redline, Mobil1 Vtwin, or Amsoil only.

If you're using 15w- or 20w-50, the EPA hasn't whacked on 'em. Yet!

No need for any additives with today's oils.

If the secret ingredient in these additives is so great, dont you think the big oil companies would already have it in there products? It's kind of how I think about it.

There are government requirements for oil additive "packages" that won't ruin the catalytic converters in auto's & trucks. That's why motorcycle oils are so different and the use of same so important.

No 15w-50 or 20w-50 has to worry about the "don't hurt the cat" additive packages as they don't have to meet the EPA specs for new car use. That's why the Mobil 1 15w-50 is a good alternative to the over-priced M1 V-Twin 20w-50. IIRC, the 10w-40 doesn't have to meet the "don't hurt the cat" specs, either.
