I was wondering if I could get O rings at auto zone/pep boys for my heritage classic? I am doing a complete fluid change for my 10k service this weekend and looking to pick up my last few things, o rings and filters.
By the way got all Redline fluids in "power pack" from www.myoilshop.com for $80.
Don't you have an HD dealer nearby? Just like buying your redline "powerpack" which sounds like it includes everything you need to change all the fluids, HD sells a complete gasket and o-ring kit for $18 if I remember correctly. Hate spending that much on such simple things, but you don't have to do it very often so its all good.
The o-rings on the oil plug ,transmission and primary are standard and not metric size and are at auto zone just in case you may need one. The other o-rings on the bike are also available but to need to know how to measure them closely so you get correct size when you do it that way. Last time I got one they were two in a bag. They were about same price as Harley dealer but he is an hour round trip drive for me.
Three 0-rings come packed w/ the new derby cover gasket (which needs replacing, anyway) for ~$6. I also use a tiny bit of Teflon-paste thread-seal on the drain-plug threads.
Your owners manual outlines all the rest of the service required @ 10,000 miles; fluid changes are just a small part. And don't forget a new a/c gasket.
