Oil Pump "CHECK BALL" is Weeping Oil

Oil Pump "CHECK BALL" is Weeping Oil
Hey Guys (Newbe Here) 
If only I can fix this oil leaking out of my oil breather I would
be a very Happy Clam
There's a CHECK BALL inside the oil pump. And its not seated correctly due to the fact oil is leaking out of my oil breather.
Question(s) Please:
1. I was told to lapp the inside of the oil pump after I take out
the check ball in the pump ! IS THIS CORRECT THING TO DO?
2. What do I do with the CHECK BALL once out of the pump ?
2a. Do I go over it with lap compound or what ?
Any thing you guys can tell me to STOP this leaking will be GREATLY APPRECIATED

P.S. Check out photos of the MESSY OIL
After ALL the old oil came flushing out of the oil breather; there's still oil slightly/weeping thru the oil breather. Now I know that the oil pump CHECK BALL is the cause.
But what do you guys suggest I do from here ? ? ?
