I used GTX in all my bikes, (over 20 HD's) when I got this 2009 I went over to mobile 1, I run it in primary, trans and motor. my bike runs cooler. I don't know other than that what it is doing. but that's enough for me to run it.
It's simple physics. Synthetic oil has superior lubrication characteristics and longevity. It will reduce wear on your engine and transmission. Using anything but synthetics doesn't make sense.
I ran Red Line MTL and standard issue ATF. In both cases the clutch slipped nice and then just grabbed. Switched to HD Formula + and got the smooth clutch movement back. Strange looking stuff, almost clear and about $7.50 from the dealer so you know it's gotta be a cheap lubricant. Wondering if 10W40 Rotella would work as good.
I bought a new 2013 FLHX last May and have used nothing other than AMSOIL in all 3 holes. It works so great that I can even find N neutral and time I want. The bike runs great!
Always used Mobil 1 before and now I'll never use it again.

Which AMSOIL you guys running in the primary? Just the standard synthetic 20w-50?
I've been using regular Rotella T in all of my wet clutch applications for the last 20 or so years or so and never had a problem. No different in the Harley.
