First fo all, thanks 2kids3pets for the idea, last week I did something homemade with an oil filter for my EVO and got excellent results. After riding about 200 miles, the oil keeps being completely transparent
Won´t go back to regular oil change for sure.
My new Street Glide Special has an oil cooler from the factory. Anyone made and used the home made scanging tool on one of these? I would be interested in pics and specs. Also, I know some think it's stupid. Don't need to hear how stupid it is. Again.
I have a 2004 FLHT , It looks easy to make the puck. On the video it says to take out the pipe plug 0nside the drain plug and screw in the fitting with the hose for the touring model . will a brass fitting with the same size tread work or do I need the special fitting? thanks
My S&S cases have a drain plug for the sump. Handy if sumping is suspected as well as a quick way to drain the old oil. I just level the bike and pull the plug. With the tank drained and a new filter there is minimal dirty oil in the system.

I don't think your S&S manual suggests, you pull the Sump Plug, you'll lose all your oil pressure ! With the Scavenger System, ALL H-D'S, never lose there oil pressure !
Why can't you just punch a hole in the end of the filter stick in a plastic tube and run the engine till the oil is clear. Same deal isn't it.
Or for that matter run it without the filter till it clears up as no oil is being put back in the engine during this process. A little messy but same result.
Is any oil being pumped through the engine while the scavenger device is being used?

I have the scavenger puck and used it a few times then realized all you have to do is unhook the oil tank return line after draining and then filling with new oil. Before removing the old filter, run the engine for 1 second (the new clean oil will at the old filter) then shut off and replace the filter after prefilling it a little. (got that part from Delboy Garage youtube video)
