Good luck! I had it done about five years ago and have not had any problems since. You'll be tender (how's that for optimism?) for a while but then you'll feel so much better that you'll be glad you did it. Again, best wishes and prayers to you.
Good luck with the surgery, I had a two level fusion with instrumentation L4-L5, L5-S1 in August of 03. It has been a longer recovery than I expected, but all in all I guess I do o-k. We'll be thinking about you and don't worry you will ride again sooner than you think.
