Default Moving to Okinawa

Hello,
I am moving to Okinawa, Japan and own a 2010 HD Rocker-C. I have at the moment Screamin' Eagle Slash-Down Slips. I was wondering what all (and the process) is needed to convert my bike to Japan Emission Specs. Thanks for the help

Default You might want to...

I'm not sure if you're there already or not. If you decided to take your bike you'll have to dish out about $3,000 to ship it to the main land and get it inspected. Be ready to pop some aspirin because the headache you're about to have is going to be a big one.

Same situation as you, trying to figure out how to get my bike to Japan specs. I'm already getting my brake certificate from Harley, or at least sending in the request... I have an 05 FXD, propipe, heavy breather and fuelpak, almost wish it was an 01 or older to not have to worry about all this crap. Anyone currently there to shed some insight? I know they recently made some new laws, so if anyone is CURRENTLY there or just left, intell is greatly appreciated. I also heard rumors that they may have gotten a testing facility on Okinawa so they don't have to ship to mainland?

You can contact these guys the owner speaks English and does work with the US military guys to comply bikes over here http://www.motofoot.co.jp/ you may need to scroll to the bottom to get the phone number.

You will definitely need to have stock pipes to get through the inspection .

I was stationed on the Rock, a long time ago. Don't know how long you are going there for but if it was me, I would store my bike here and buy something to ride when I got there. If I remember, the island is only 11 x 4 miles. Like riding around the block. You can buy a lot of bike there for a lot less than the cost of shipping. Probably not an HD but if you really like the bike you have, why take a chance on loosing it.
