Wife and I are leaving on Saturday for a tour going from SF up through OR and to Seattle WA, possibly going to BC in Canada. We have not really planned a whole lot yet, but are thinking of going up the coast and making the whole tour about 19 days.
Any "Must See" advice or tips for us? Would you recommend rain gear, cool roads etc?
Around Mt. Rainier, around the peninsula, Deception Pass, and up or down Whidbey Island.
Fantastic scenery, no humidity, just right for a jacket or rain gear. Who cares if it rains, good roads, safe speeds, lots of cornering, and small towns. Have a great ride.
Mount Rainer a must. Mount Hood a must. Motorcycle Journeys Through the Pacific Northwest by Bruce Hansen. this book will give you great trip ideas and roads rarely traveled and lodging food info. Get it!!! on Amazon for about $15.00 well worth it and it fits in a small bag.
Love the PCH in Oregon and ride it often,Oregon born & raised here but now living in WA.
The weather on the coast is always a crap shoot,it's rare to do the whole Oregon coast in sunny warm weather but it can happen
Most often you will be in and out of clouds and fog here and there always with a chance of showers but rarely very cold temps.
Expect wind and temps in the 60's most days,80's or 90's are rare but happen.
The views are as good as it gets anywhere so enjoy!

Sounds great. Might pick-up some cheap rain gear for the possible showers. Temps sound perfect as do the views.
Take the turn off from 101 to Pacific City in Oregon and ride the Three Capes up to Tillamook. The scenery is beautiful, and it wont really cost you any extra road time compared to staying on 101. Be sure and pack rain gear as the weather has been a bit stormy and will be for afew more days. If you are stopping off in Lincoln City, send a PM will meet and greet if ya have the time. Enjoy the Ride!
And make sure you eat at Moe's in Lincoln City and like everyone else has said......Be prepared for any weather. You also might want to stop at the Lighthouses along the way. They are pretty cool. Take your time and enjoy the sights. The Oregon coast is like no other.
