Nice looking pics.

I do have a question, from Lake Mead, how is 166/167 heading up to Valley of Fire? Is it a decent road, any places to eat or get something to drink?

We can jump on 15 and head back cause I would like to see Red Rock. I did find Nelson, NV.ya never know if I still have time and might just swing down there.

btw; we do have reservation from LVHD

thanks guys

The last time I took that route they were working on the roads. They were pretty tore up at the time. I might take that ride soon. If I do before you guys come out I will post the condition of the road. I don't think there is anything other than the visitor center in Valley of Fire. They may have vending machines. I know there are a few places in Overton. The Puite travel center is at the turn off from I-15. They got fireworks and drinks.

166 is fantastic with an nice smooth surface.

167 on the other hand..... It great until the last few miles before Valley of Fire. The winter weather plays havoc on the road with the increase in rain and the fact that the road is less traveled. 167 is still a great ride though, just when the you get to the old pavement, slow down and pay attention to the road signs. Ther eis nothing seriously wrong with the road other than the pavement pealing in a few places, loose gravel and washboards before and during the turns. Just slow down and take your time and you will be fine. Don't let this rough piece of road deter you from a great ride otherwise on the smooth parts. Besides, it gives you a chance to slow down and enjoy the scenary.

Oh... and a 3$ park entry fee when you enter 166 that will be good for a few days when going and coming back into the park.

Ride just a little further North, have lunch in Overton then double back to go through Vally of Fire. There are several good little diners in Overton and it's probably 16 miles round trip out of your way.

I lost a tranny drain plug out on 167 about Blue point springs. Waited for two hours before the guy that did the work that morning came out. It gets cold quick out there I heard a few coyotes just before he showed up.

We’ll be flying in on the 27th. Question- Where exactly is this gold mine located around Nelson? Seems I’ve talked’em into going down there. I don’t think we can make it to Oatman but it looks like a good time also.
Btw; this is all your fault Bruce
Thanks
