Am riding 2-up from Boise to the redwood coast the weekend before Redwood Run. My daughter will bevisiting Humboldt State University and the town of Arcata. We'll be staying in Fortuna right next door to the Eel River Brewing Co.
Havetaken many road tripsall over those Northern California motorcycle roads. This time around will likely head out to Klamath Falls via Vale, Burns, Christmas Valley and Silver Lake. Next morning, west on 66 to I-5 then north to Phoenix where we'll cut west on 238 to Wilderville. 199 and 101 south to Fortuna.
Avenue of the Giants is a very popular ride, but don't overlook Mattole Road which winds through Rockfeller Forest in Humboldt Redwoods SP (west of Weott), and has 40 of the tallest redwood trees around.

Won't be able to make it this year, but it is always good time, booze babes, & great rock n roll
I will sure miss out, especialy sine credence & marshall tucker are playing this year

Made many/all redwood Runs late 70s all thru the 80s into early 90s, always agreat time, just got to be way too commercial and crowded not to mention way too pricey, maybe I'm just getting too old? Liked the ol days at Richardson's Grove much better....JMHO

Leaving Sonora Thursday morning and \\;should be at the gate around 4 or 5. I heard a lot of people show up Thursday \\;and camp right outside the gate so I'm going to check it out.
