Some good suggestions, Jockos, Far west etc.
I would suggest drive the 15 miles to Pismo Beach and try F. McLintocks. Reservations are not mandatory but would save you waiting in the bar.[8D]
Looking for a joint somewhere on Broadway close to the Best Western so the hotel shuttle can drop us off and pick us up thus leaving us the ability to drink adult beverages freely without having to worry about riding our beloved steel ponies in an altered state.
BBQ, quality pizza or just some place with good food and a relaxed atmosphere. I'm thinking of the kind of place where you order and pay then wait for your number while drinking a cold one. Not fast food but somewhere where we can come as we are, relax and unwind.
There's an El Pollo Norteno south of us (might be too far?) they serve the best tri-tip anywhere (also serve chicken). Not sure how big it is....the one in Simi is pretty small.
El Pollo Norteno 1954 S Broadway Ste H, Santa Maria, CA 93454 Tel: (805) 928-9338
Otherwise it looks like most of the eats are on Main street or south of main street on Broadway/Orcutt.
How about Stinky's Grill? http://www.stinkysgrill.com/stinky's_menu.htm How far will the shuttle take us? 1 mile, 5 miles???

You gotta love a placeconfident enough in their menu to call their joint Stinky's.
Only .64 miles form the hotel. I'm in if the rest of you are!
