Default Kern River info

In the 70's we use to ride to an area called the "Tubs" and "Slides" along the Little Kern. It was a partying place. I heard that the area has been closed for some time, but I am unable to confirm this. Does anyone remember this area and have info of where it is and if it is still accessible?

Thanks!!

Sounds like I used to do the same thing you did. Bought my first Harley in the 70's and used to ride up to lower Sequoia re the hot springs and the rock slide. All I remember about it was following the Kern all the way up, past Roads End, and up the hill, until you went over this gorge with a rather funky old concrete bridge. Sometime after the bridge, you made a right turn off the main road ( according to what I can see on Mapquest, there's a couple of right turns ) then down a mile or so. That was a very long time ago ! Ah for the good old days

I just stumbled on your message. Perhaps this would help. Sorry it's a little late, but I see your post was right after the run as well.

Careful, if you go to the site some pics are NSFW. They are run pics, however.
