I went in 2006 and 2007. It's not all that exciting, except for the Victor McLaglen Motor Corp demonstration. Otherwise all that it seems to be good for is getting your closest buddies to pitch tents in a circle, unfold some chairs, and drink alcohol all day and night long. And that's what we did both years.
The actual ride to the prison is pretty short, and just goes through town. We did the ride in 2006, and didn't bother in 2007. And if you want to do some riding around the area, it's all flat and straight, not much to see.
Most of the attendees are club members, prospects, and hang arounds. Not too many RUBs there.
I think it's ok to take kids, all the stuff in public view is PG rated. But I never recalled seeing kids there.
It is a family event with adults acting like kids, I know, I'm one of them. I've been there with my teenage son, he dug it. He was riding around on his bike with other kids he met there.

family run for sure more old school than a lot of runs town is very bike friendly and yes the area is very flat but many thing to see and do..you can camp for free but we usually get a motel as do most of the people that go.
onother plus is you can leave your helmet in your motel room
