For what's it's worth, I suggested Tom's Farms last month when Anubiss floated the idea of a meet n greet. I think getting everyone together is great idea, but at this point I'm not sure on the exact date. As far as the poll goes, I think some of the interest may be slipping because of the time it has taken to pull this together. There were polls/posts on location another poll/post on dates and now third poll/post on who's bringing who. The original idea was suggested last month around the 15th and here we are nearly a month later and we're still taking polls and haven't made definitive plans yet.
This is not a criticism, but it is a statement of fact and I do believe that these things tend to lose momentum the longer they get dragged out. Realizing that no matter where or when you decide to go, there will always be people who will not be happy, or simply cannot make the event, for whatever reason. You just have to make the plans, choose the location, set the date and let everybody know the particulars. Those that can make it will, those that can't won't. It's that simple. There doesn't need to be an inordinate amount of prepartion going in to something like this. I suggested Tom's Farms because of it's central location and freewway access; also because thre are very few other places that are set up as well as Tom's and they can accomodate a large group like ours. Keeping things simple and not getting carried away with lots of details is what I had in mind for the meet n greet, but then again I'm not planning it...just offering my opinion. Either way, I'll try my best to be there....especially since the location I suggested was picked as the meeting place. Now if somebody could just give me the date/time that would great.
this whole meet and greet idea has turned into a chinese fire drill. i'm thinkin' the dems got a hand in the planning.
+1 Been thinking seriously about putting my own together because I'm tired of waiting. I've done events in the past and it doesn't take this much effort. This has been going on close to a month now and we could of already had 2 of these in the time it has taken.
Okay, since I started this in the first place why don't we meet at Tom's Farm the Sunday after labor day. The HG one looks like it will take a bit longer for him to organize. Who's in? Start a new thread so people know. September 13 Tom's Farm. That's it. It has been decided. Be there or be square. All your whining did work. I'll post it in the SoCal section. Democracy is dead!
