So I'm ready for my XR's first service.. and am trying to decide which dealer in OC to take it to. It's got a couple of issues I want looked at as well(blowing smoke on decel, erratic fuel sending unit..), so if at all possible I'd rather start out with someone with a good reputation.
Here's the choices... Please let me know if you've had service/repair work done at any of 'em, and would you recommend them.
Anaheim/Fullerton HD-(starting out with 2 strikes, as a female service writer asked me if my bike was a Kawasaki)
Westminster HD-
OC HD(bought it here)-
Corona(outside of OC, but only 20 minutes from me)-
I also bought mine from OC HD and they did my 1000 mile service as well as other stuff and did not have any problems with them. Westminster did some recall work on my bike and also no problems. I have had problems with Anaheim HD and will not let them touch my bike.
I have bought 2 bikes from westminster, great local dealership. Was not happy just trying to make a purchase @ anaheim/fullerton, I have heard a mix of good & mostly bad from them. I also had good service from OC HD on a couple of occasions
Forget Fullerton. They totally hosed up the delivery setup of my new bike back in early '08. Months later, I was still finding things they did wrong (or never did at all). The sales process was fine (surprisingly), but I told them I would give Service the lowest possible score on the Harley new-owner survey... and I did. I never heard a word from them. They don't care.
Sorry I can't help with a recommendation, but perhaps I have at least helped you narrow your choices.
