Default Hawaii Motorcycle Inspections

Can anyone give me info on Hawaii Inspections? I have heard that turn signals must be 16 inches between them(front) and cannot be closer than 4 inches from the brake light if they are red. If turn signals are amber, Does that rule still apply? I have niether now. How big are the inspection stickers and display requirements? Reflectors? Pipes? I have a thunder header on that I bet is alittle too loud. Can anyone help a Haole out? Any info is greatly appreciated. I have searched on-line and found conflicting info. Thanks, I mean Mahalo!

Hawaii as on the Big Island? I'll pretend your on Oahu and answer ya. haha I'm guessing you have a out of state and/or project bike thats not registered yet? Go see Dwayne with the DOT Reconstruction. He's the inspector. I dont have the number on me and dont fell like lookin it up. They're located diagonal from Market City. Its by Waialae and Kapahulu Aves right under the freeway. Call 411 and get the number for an appointment or just go down and get all the answers ya need.

That info I gave him is just for the recon inspection. He's gotta do the safety check after. I hope he knew that! haha

Thanks for the info Lena. I will be on Oahu in October, I wish I was going to the peaceful Big Island. I put most of the stuff on already -turn signals and horn but I still gotta add a belt guard. It is a Florida reg bike and didn't need that stuff. I have been trying to get as much done here so when I get there I dont have to run around getting parts to start riding. I just spoke with a friend of my Brother who left Oahu a couple of months ago and he complained he could never own the bike or hotrod he wanted while living there because of the inspections. He moved to Melbourne, FL. and also mentioned Dwayne. Thanks Again!
