The weather cleared for cool fall riding in Central Nevada this weekend, these roads were made for therapy. You can drive for miles without seeing anyone and the locals are friendly, the food is good. Check out the functioning steam railroad in Ely. My big surprise was seeing an old friend at a stop that was adventuring on his BMW, that would have made a great picture- the HD bunch and the Beemers in a parking lot swapping stories acting all friendly. Last big ride before the weather gets nasty.
We were out there for the first time in late July. Yeah, hot. We were cutting accross from CA on route to other points in NV, UT, AZ. Crazy you ran into someone you knew out there. As you have said, you can go for hours and not see anything but Mormon crickets and lizards.
Thought I'd include a few pics from the ride that will probably look familiar to you.
