Carson City to LA
Greetings all,
I am heading to the LA area next week and would like to take a different route home. Heading down the 395 to get there, but looking for different scenery for the way home. Any ideas?

How about 101 back from Santa Barbara up to the SF bay area then over 88 up through the Sierras. I moved from Sparks 2 years ago so my wife cold be treated for Cancer and each time I go home to Reno I try to find a different route cause from Vegas to Reno is just butt ugly. The 14th my GF and i are leaving to go to Reno to visit friends but we are going by way of Petaluma so she can visit family so I decided to go from Phoenix to Santa Barbara then up the 101 into the bay area. We went the opposite this last June from Eureka down the 1 to Santa Barbara then the 10 back to Phoenix so I want to see what the 101 looks like from SB to SF.

Although its not scenic... I live in so cal and have family in Truckee. I usually travel 99 up then to 80 but you can just as well go 5 out of so cal to 99 to 50 into Carson City. Otherwise as mentioned for more of a coastal route hit 101 then cut over back to the 5.
