Seems to top out at about 108mph in 4th gear before the rev limiter kicks in, but by **** does it get there quick.
I've no idea in terms of seconds from 60 to 100 how fast it is, but it's very good.
3rd gear 40 mph to 75 or so is also really quick.
I just love the power from about 6K RPM to redline. I like to ride at 4K+ for most things - so as soon as you can see the space, you can effortlessly accelerate into it - and if there's enough distance then 8K rpm plus comes up nice and easy. The rev limiter is also rather mellow rather than a hard cut.
Since you brought it up, I find Im spending a lot more miles just looking for places to open her up a bit. 75 to 100 feels like 55 to 70 on my Ultra. What an outstanding engine, mechanically a bit noisy but makes me grin from ear to ear every mile I ride it. If you edit engine mode A for top performance, hold on tight cause its a rocket ship.
The roll-on between 80 to 95 feels like about 2 seconds! I have not seen actual roll-on numbers on any of the tests yet. I would like to know how it compares to other bikes, including sport bikes.
Not as fast as my old BMW S1000RR track bike (207 HP with 435lb weight) but a damn site faster than the Road Glide.
The claimed HP for the Pan America is 150 HP at 559 lbs.
The KTM 1290 SAS claims 160 HP at 441 lbs.
From my experience, off the line they would be dead even. The KTM then builds acceleration as the speed increases.
Don't need wheelie control like modern track bikes but either way it's fast.
