:-) Thanks. The dealership did offer me long term use of one of their Demo Pan Ams, but I didn't take them up on it as I have been having fun on the Low Rider ST.
I had a chat with them yesterday and the stator has arrived. So I should have news of what the motor looks like inside soon enough....hopefully there won't be broken bits of magnet in the case.
Got a magnetic drain plug?
Might be a good idea...
Good news. The dealership opened it up to change the stator and went through the drained oil and everywhere they could get to with a magnetic probe. No metallic particles. The removed stator looks 100% from visual inspection.
They will button it all up again tomorrow and we we will see what we see.
Dealer Principal called me and said they will give me an extended warranty FOC. Term TBC.
So that's positive. Let's see if it charges properly once it's back together...
Dealership called. Bike is all back together and everything looks great. I will be away for the next week, but they will drop it off to me the week after. Hopefully all will be good after I put a few hundred miles on it. I'm interested to see how the new lithium battery performs along with the new starter clutch gear.
Which reminds me, I have a new Puig touring screen sitting in the garage to go on, along with some Denali light brackets to move the D3s up off the crashbars.

What's your take on the Puig screen? My one is clear as they had no smoked available when I bought it. I figured if I like it, I can always buy the smoke version if I feel like it.

It provides more protection than the HD 18", but not as much as the GIVI. With that said...the GIVI is crap! I had the first replaced due to cracking around every mounting bolt, the replacement did the same thing.

I really like that front tire. What kind of tire is that?
