Working on a 49 which is static sumping way too much oil. Seat at bottom is good, ball is good. Concerned about the spring. Looks too small in diameter and length in comparison to the diameter of the hole. Doesn't look like it can sit square on top of the ball because it is so skinny. In other valve and ball assemblies the spring is usually just a little smaller in diameter so it can activate but not wobble. We're there more than one diameter and length springs in the old girls.
Any help,would be appreciated. V Twin lists a spring VT 13-0113. Have tried to find one, only source I saw was on EBay and they wanted 37$ for 10. I was going to buy one to try....but too expensive....I need advise on this and if possible where I can buy the correct spring.....
