just had a quick question. I know the shop book say motor oil for the trans, Dad says 60wt in the engine. I work at jeep so I have multiple flavors of gear oil. What the best for a 51 hand shift trans?
After many years and many changes of ideas the shop has settled years back on one oil to cover everything from 1903 to 1984
CAUTION i dont give a rats A$$ what any one else uses - and will comment in a way will make some cry this is not an oil thread
valvoline VR1 Racing SAE 60 weight - engine and trans - its a full synthetic hi in zinc mixture < if you dont know what zinc does look it up you want in an old machine
