Hi hope I'm doing this in the right spot. My dad has a 1949 Panhead, Springer front end on a Schwinn frame all chrome with gold accents, painted Candy Apple Raspberry with pearl ghost flames. Was built by a man who lived close by us in Cali. One of the most beautiful bikes I have ever seen for a "90's" custom build. I was wanting to know and my dad also would is what it may be worth in the market these days. He has had bad knee issues that now stop him from riding this monster bike, might be all bikes soon but wants to see if might be able to sell it but, we have no idea what a good price would be to start at or at all. I know custom builds are harder to sell but this is a pretty hard to find bike. Any help would be very appreciated thank you guys. I do not have a way to get pictures of the bike at this time but I will try to get some or old ones if I can.
Ok so I'll have to talk about other things tell I can post the pictures Lol. I don't ride now and never have owned a Harley sadly but have always wanted one of the dirt bikes I seen in the early 2000's. Haven't seen them really after that though. I will read and see how many posts I need to do to post the pictures when I get them thank you guys.
Not up to me my father is the one wanting to sell it. Me I would keep it and add a side car if I could find an original (impossible find) more likely have to build one but always wanted a bike with a sidecar.
Many cars are adaptable to a Harley and many are available - if he is too old to ride is one thing if its kicking it - then have it converted to electric start
MTLEADER, send me/PM the pics and I will gladly post them for you.
I live in Nor-Cal, SF Bay Area if it is any help.
"Springer front end on a Schwinn frame"...do you mean swing arm frame?
If you are interested in hanging on to it there are a couple of resources for adding an e-start. And since it's a chop, it's not as tho you are altering original equipment/parts.
And as stated, it is really difficult to determine price without pics.
