So I did a custom carpentry job for a guy 4 years ago. He didn't have the money to pay me and left his custom bike for collateral. He hasn't been back for it since. I believe it has a 100 or 110" RevTech engine, 6 speed trans and a 3" open belt drive. Rigid frame and an extended springer front end. Should I try to get a title on it or sell the drivetrain and front end off it?
Is there any VIN on it ? Was it originally a manufacturer built bike ? Did the guy even have a title for it? If it is a complete custom built bike, you might be able to apply for a homebuilt/custom bike title and they send you a new VIN to put on it.
I didn't notice a VIN. There's a number on the engine case and the bike still has the plate and last inspection sticker on it. It's a custom built from a local builder I believe. Maybe I'll contact the local PD and see if they'll run the plate for me for some info.
Dude if you did some custom carpentry work then you must know where he lives.
Go talk to him and find out what his thoughts are, but above all else be kind with
your words, "a kind voice turns away wrath."
