When you say 'restore', do you mean like white-glove AMCA or resto-mod to your own liking. The AMCA version can cost some serious mean green, if you cannot do a lot of the work yourself.
And, depending on what condition the bike is in now, says what it is worth and how much it will cost you to do what you want to her.
That being said, the real cost of a pan....priceless
If it is in original condition or close please think twice about making it into a bobber, in my opinion that would be a terrible thing to do! I can supply you with parts for a bobber just sell me the 61!! LOL. I own a stock 62, 48 and working on 49 that was bobberd. Dave
Good luck with buying a 61 pan from theoriginal owner.The guy would have to be my ag ( damn near dead ). Come to think of it some old shriners bikes may be stored away and the owners kicking off. I'd try your local group of shrinners.
I own a 61' FL that was a service trike in it's first life. It was a barn find, and come in a few boxes... Rearend was trash so It just turned it into my easyrider copper. I am only 32 years old, and I am maddly in love with my bike. The 61' is a great bike, but your going to pay out the nose for parts.
