Color Schemes
Fellas,
Back in the early 80's when my dad owned the Pan, he had the bike repainted. Well, Monday I filled her up with gas, and the seal to the left tank leaked allowing the fuel to balance, which caused the gas to run out of the cap. It only leaked for app. 3-4min., but it was long enough to turn the paint to jelly. Then, Tuesday, the left saddlebag lid blew off the damn thing. I recovered the lid, and it is intact, just scratched to hell. So, I was planning on getting the bike repainted, but just not so soon. Here's my question. Currently the saddle bags are Hi Fi Blue, with the birch white/blue pinstripe at the bottom. The lids are blue as well, however I think I remember them (the lids) being white. Bear in mind I was 7 or 8 years old when the bike was repainted, so I may be wrong. Can anyone help me with this one? Looking at several pictures, most of them show the Electra Glide with solid birch white saddlebags, and others with matching color scheme on the bags with white lids. Did they ever have matching color lids, or were they always white? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
