Default Oil/Oil Filter

What oil do you like to run in your old pans? I run HD 60 in the engine and tranny. As for filter, I have been using the old felt drop in, but was thinking of trying the paper drop in. My pan has less than 5,000 original miles on it and I'm doing frequent oil changes for the first 1,000 miles to work out any varnish and/or sludge from sitting for so long. What do you all use?

I got an after market spin on filter. Did my own plumbing to set it up. Straight 50 oil.

Default Oil

I use 50 in the winter and a 70 in the summer (if I can find it), gets pretty hot here in the south. I have a retro-style oil filter that uses a spin-on type filter.

I run Redline 20-60w synthetic year round. I've got a side cannister I use a paper filter in. 48's didn't come stock with filters but I can't fathom running an engine unfiltered. I run 80-90w dino gear oil in my tranny.

I used to run Valvoline 60 wt. Can't find it now. Just 50 wt. Valvoline. So that is what I am using. If I ran the stock oil filter assembly I would run the paper element. I got tired of oil leaks with the stock assembly. I put the aftermarket on with the spin on filter. Looks like the stock one. Only works a lot better.
