I may have some of these facts wrong. I believe on 48-52 pan heads there is a tab somewhere on the front end like maybe on the triple tree, that the springer spring mount bolts onto. Any one have any idea what I'm talking about? If so you can explain it better or have a pic?
K you are confusing the $hit outta me here. 48 was for all purposes that the last springer front end on pan models, And before someone gets there panties bunched w/ stats...yes it was an option for 49, primarily for sidecar models and it is assumed that some non-side car models were sold as well.
49 was the introduction to the Hydra-Glides and in 50 they first offered an adjustable tree for use with sidecar models. There was a bolt at the bottom of the tree to allow the front end to kick out.
