50 Panhead

I am having problems starting the bike after riding 60-70 mph for any length of time. Usually it takes about a half an hour to an hour, or like last time my wife came and picked me up, and we all know how that goes. I am currently running a Super E with .295 intermediate jet with a .068 main, Hunt Mag, and Harley 4R plugs. I live at 6000' elevation and do most of my riding around 1200'. Also, has anybody tried the Mikuni HSR42 carb on their pan? Any and all information would be greatly appreciated.

Can't help you with the Super E carb (I run the original Linkert) but you might try opening the low speed mixture screw a little and see if that helps. Mine is hard to start at times after a long run also. Through trial and error I've found that if I open the throttle about half way and give it a good kick, it usually gets over the stubborn spell. Hope someone on here has experience with a Super E and can help.

Did you pull plug see if it's wet when it won't start? Seems I twist just a little bit and it fires. Super e to me seems to dump a plentiful amount of fuel
