brushed aluminium - how to finish?

brushed aluminium - how to finish?
I have done my Dyna in all aluminium bodywork, and am thinking of a brushed finish.
My concern is that aluminium starts to oxodize instantly and will get worse with time.
Alloy is unknown.
I live inland so zero chance of salt air.
Is there a flat denim style clear coat?
Paint is difficult to get to stick to aluminium, and I have always used an etching primer
How to get a clear coat to stick?
I have had clear powdercoat turn yellow over time
Anodize?
How did HD do the aluminium on the early V-rod?

Wow! I would like to see a pic of your bike in all aluminum.
I know they make satin clear coat, and lot of car wheel/rims are aluminum with a clear coat:

I know some powder coats are photo sensitive and some are not, I think technology is catching up regarding the yellowing.
I would talk with a good well established paint shop, and the same with a powder coater to see what they suggest. I have shot regular automotive urethane clear over brushed aluminum without any adhesion issue.
Personally, I would consider leaving it raw and use a good wax. A regular cleaning routine with wax will keep the raw aluminum looking good. Take a look at some of the vintage BSA motorcycle tanks (as an example). Some models are aluminum and pretty sure the finish is just polished. YD

I used an original Superglide boat tail as a mould for the back half of the fibreglass tail piece, but now thinking to use it as a buck to do it all in aluminium. Same buck thoughts re the fiber chin spoiler, which I had to make larger to hide the Tru-Track chassis stabiliser
Tried Shine Seal on the swingarm yesterday, and may try it on the brushed aluminium but I understand it only is good for 2 years, and I do not need another chore.

I love the look!! That bike looks great!!
Thing long and hard about putting a coating on it. A clear coat will eventually create a maintenance issue with chipping, then stripping it all to reapply etc.
I say leave it raw like it is and just use a buff and wax every now and then. Maybe check out an airstream camper or airplane forum on how to care for raw aluminum. I figure those guys will know to how to clean, polish, and keep it clean with oxidization at a minimum. YD
