My dad (65yrs. old)used to to race long distance (150 miles) motorcross in the California and Nevada deserts in the late 60's and 70's. He hasn't ridden in 30 plus years. Well without my sister's or I's knowledge, he went out with an old racin buddy of his this weekend to the desert and crashed. I received a phonecall at work notifying me of this and I proceded 60 miles to the hospital where he was. All the time thinking the worst. Well it turns out he fractured his 6 and 7th vertabrae and compressed the ones below. Good news is that his spinal cord was not damaged and he has feeling in his extremities (which is a miracle from Heaven).
The reason for prayer is that he is in a tremendous amount of pain. The Dr.'s have been giving him morphine for the pain and other drugs to control his nausea but he is still suffering a great deal. He had a HALO inserted to stabilize his spine but thebad thing is he can't move his head from side to side because of the device's restrictions. So he is basically gonna be on his back looking up for approximately 3-4 days and Iknow that can be highly frustrating. At this time, the Dr. said that he will not need surgery tp which I am greatful.
My Dad is very good and Godly man. So I am asking those of you who pray to ask the Lord to relieve him of the intense suffering and to mend him back together as soon as possible.
thank you to those that have extended prayers my dad's way. he was doing alot better today. however the severe pain comes and goes. i found out that he will have surgery on tuesday to fues his 6th and 7th vert.
a little info on my dad. he is a very godly man who has been a christlike example to my sister and I. to see him in pain is very hard for us. my dad, unlike myself has been a great witness for Christ and His kingdom. please keep praying for his recovery and relief for his pain.
