For Mom
My Mom is stranded in the ruins of Hurricane Ike near Galveston. She is without power, home or cell phone service and is alone. Her house and vehicle sustained damage, though not a total loss as some did. She has been advised that power will not be restored for at least 6 weeks, maybe longer. I am trying to convince her to come to Chicago and stay with me through the Holidays. My stepfather passed away less than a year ago and she is alone down there. She also has medical problems including MS. She cannot obtain gas, medication, ice or water when needed. I'm not sure why she is reluctant to come up but she needs family right now. Perhaps a few prayers for her (and the many others down there) might help. Thanks in advance for your thoughts and prayers.

Hi Zach, my wife has MS. I know how mothers can be, I have one that will not listen to me. I hope things work out for you and your mother. I am asking GOD right now to protect her and give her the wisdom she needs at this time. I am glad she is ok. (alive)

Zach, I am praying for wisdom for your mom. Also for her protection and peace of mind. I can not begin to imagine the stress associated with her situation. I'll also pray for you as well. May God be with your family as well as all those affected by Ike. God is good all the time. He will look out for you.
