I just found out that a friend I had made while up in Mosul, Iraq is ill. His name is Jim Roberts. He is a retired Marine, I believe. He is a civilian contractor from Ft. Richardson, Alaska and was in Mosul when he started getting aches and pains. He is a tough old coot and put off going to sick call for a while. The docs believed that he had symptoms of a stroke and evacuated him back home. Apparently, When he got back to Alaska, a inoperable tumor was found growing around his spine. Jim has a wonderful wife and a child that is 4 years old, he waited until he retired to start a family. The mutual friend who told me about it stated that it was announced in a briefing that Jim's prognosis was bad, and he only has a very short time to live. Yall say a prayer for a man who gave all of his efforts to his country, both as a Marine, and after he retired. God bless you brother.
I just found out that Jim passed away a few days ago. They are burying him today. This man spent his life serving his country. Rest easy, friend. God Bless You.
