EVO Engine/Trans (Driveline) Swap HELP !!
Are all Evo driveline fitments the same?
Years ago I bought a 1988 FLHTP (cop bike) and recently I have started looking to swap out the engine, trans. and primary into a softail.
I have come across a complete and unmolested 1996 Softail Heritage Classic MINUS the engine, trans. and primary.
Seeing as the frames are different, can I directly swap the 1988 FLHTP driveline into the 1996 Softail Heritage Classic ??
Thanks in advance, Dee
It could just be a bunch of parts from different sources thrown together...
All Evo drivelines are not the same.
The engine will fit, but the transmission case and inner and outer primary covers will not.
If the FLHT is in good shape, don`t cannibalize it, either ride it or sell it.

The 1996 is very original with a few boutique options and bling but, the PO wants the driveline for another bike/project (supposedly it's a screaming eagle, $ go fast parts and money invested)...
My FLHTP is basically in boxes except for the driveline being in the frame along with the frontend...so it needs work and I'm not sure what all is there (looks complete but...?)
