RE: EVO Industries 30 tooth engine sprocket installed
dawg is correct, it completely eliminates the compensator and changes your gearing from 2.79 to 3.15 final, same as the pre-06 bikes. Makes starting on a grade easier, you can drop it into 6th sooner, and you dont have to deal witht the POS compensator. Only difference is that you may get some engine pulses that you may not with the the compensaotr in place, such as when decelerating you might need to pull the clutch in just a tad sooner when coming to a stop. the IDS or "cush drive" on the touring bikes will almost eliminate this as you have moved the compensator from the engine to the rear wheel.
I rode mine for the first time yesterday with the 30 tooth sprocket and all I can say is wow, what a difference in aceleration and ease of pulling away from a light. And was into 6th at 55 with no issues (that may have something to do with the big engine). I dont know how the sprocket would feel on a bike without IDS, but I imagine not a whole lot different.
There are some that have installed them on dynas, so maybe they will chime in.

Hi,
anybody tried or seen in the JPCYCLES catalog....... new design compensator sprocket. 3 peice patented design with no spring. Huge weight savings compared to stock compensator. Fits big twins 91 - 06 except 06 dyna. 25 or 24 tooth.... just wondering. Judd

hey dalton, quick question ,what cam you running?looking to do 120 in my 07 ultra also.how is that pipe on long rides?thanks
I am runnning the HQ575 along with head and cyl work by HQ and CP pistons. The Boarzilla is just plain LOUD, that is why if you look closely I have fitted the muffler with a Supertrapp discholder. It is much more mellow now and still performs really well, in fact maybe better than stock as the torque feels to have moved lower in the rpm range. Another 120 , Hot Pursuit, has gone from a Boarzilla back to a Fatcat and is having good luck with that on his 120 so far. I may have "overthought" the pipe selection when getting the Boarzilla, but have found a fix.

30T CHAIN SPROCKET WITH NEW 84P CHAIN FIT 2006/2007 BAGGER & FLH
I never seem to have much luck with the search function. Is there a write up somewhere around here that covers installing this? I'm interested in any special tools that I might need.
RE: EVO Industries 30 tooth engine sprocket installed
Thanks for the install link Dawg.Just to make sure I understand what I read, you did have to slide the clutch out to install the new chain and sprocket? I was hoping that I wouldn't need to get into messing with the clutch. Also, about how long for the average person to do this? I've got the shop space, plenty of tools and the service manual and I don't intend to do the chrome inner as part of this.
